Stating the obvious, kids need parents. They need parents to help them develop the social, emotional and intellectual skills for adulthood – for work and citizenship, for community. We all need kids to grow up with this triple-health bill. Whether we’re their friends, neighbours, employers or colleagues. But, as the recent Australian Institue of Family Studies report, Families make all the difference – Helping kids to grow and learn, shows, longer working hours, and commutes, mean parents spend less time with their kids.
Is this another sign of the Caring-less society being driven by the Care-more economy?
